Pursuant to the provisions of Section 1269b(d) of California Penal Code, the Traffic Bail Schedule was amended and adopted by a majority of the Judges at a meeting held on March 29, 2022. The Bail Schedule is effective as of January 1, 2022.

Note: The Bail Schedule is the presumptive bail for many, but not all statutory offenses. A Judicial officer may review bail in any individual case and exercise discretion in setting appropriate bail different from the schedule.

In doing this the judicial officer will consider:

  • protection of the public,
  • the seriousness of the offense charged,
  • the previous criminal record of the defendant, and
  • the probability the defendant will appear at trial or at the next hearing.

Please note the schedule includes a very limited number of Infraction violations.  A comprehensive listing of Infraction violations may be found in the Uniform Bail and Penalty Schedules on the State Court Criminal Law website . Also be aware that the schedule does not reflect the total amount owed since many state-mandated assessments and fees are added to certain misdemeanor and infraction violations, substantially increasing the final sum that must be paid.
